Kheyra Baal is a vampire from the planet Dattar. The men of Dattar are all submissive and the women are all supposed to be dominant. Something is different about Kheyra in that she is submissive. Having to play a sexually dominant role in her planet leaves her without her needs being met. She runs away to earth so that she can experience the passion that she seeks.
Vampire Deacon Quincy discovers Kheyra trespassing on his hunting grounds which happen to cover a huge section of Los Angeles. He is unaware that she is from another planet where people are born vampires. His own experience with a female vampire had taught him to avoid them. However, he finds himself unable to control his attraction to Kheyra. Getting swept up in passion, he introduces her to sexual pleasures and acts that she had never experienced before. She finds herself falling for him, yet she knows that her time on earth is limited because there are trackers that will come looking for her soon.
Instead of trackers, a Dattar matriarch comes for Kheyra. She wants to take her back to their planet so that she can be reprogrammed as a dominant. Her behavior on earth is unacceptable. When Deacon sees the matriarch he realizes that she is a woman from his past. He cannot stand her. Kheyra and Deacon learn that in order for them to stay together, she has to be defeated. They take on the fight alongside each other.
“Earthly Possession” is a very sensual story. The author, Erin Aislinn, does an incredible job with writing her erotic scenes. I felt that I was watching them more so than reading about them. She also has created a different history of how vampires came to be on earth. This idea was incredibly interesting and original. I highly recommend this novel to people who enjoy vampire stories. This is one that should not be missed.
