The Trail of Murder
I recently reviewed another mystery novel, one that changed my mind in favor of reading more of them. That book was excellent. “The Trail of Murder” is yet another outstanding book, and ratifies my belief that such books should not be ignored. Janne Davis has written a really good book, all the way from developing a great plot to building outstanding characters, to articulating both in a smoothly flowing manner. Ms. Davis possesses the writing skill sets necessary to keeping a reader invested in the book. More than that, she has the skills to keep the reader reading, something lacking in many books. I found myself staying up later at night to finish the book; I was extremely reluctant to put it down. On the whole, I’d rate “The Trail of Murder” among the better books I’ve read over the years. If Ms. Davis hasn’t written other books, I’d strongly encourage her to write a series on Gerry Freeman. This is a winner, and if she does write more, I’ll be one of the first in line to buy them. |
