“Exhumed” is haunting.  The best ghost story I have ever read.  With each turn of the page I was taken more and more into the perplexing tale.  How an innocent backyard boyhood campout in 1953 can change the lives of so many for so long reminds me that every moment truly counts.  You can’t erase what is destined to be.

When a separated, unpublished writer moves into town and joins up with his elderly neighbor, who is mourning the fact that his wife’s life is not as it used to be, the past and the present collide.  Quinn assists, at first unwillingly, Francis with a mystery involving his wife and her illness.  The two follow the clues and soon realize they have stumbled upon the source of Francis’ boyhood tragedy.

“Exhumed” by Elizabeth Zito-Joyce will leave you guessing, there is no question about that.  I loved it, it is short enough to read in one sitting and that is exactly how it should be read.  Absorb it all at one time, you will not be disappointed.
