Priestess Awakening
Having not had the pleasure of reading the other books the author wrote in this series, I was grateful that in the beginning of the book characters were listed along with what their role was. This book has everything for readers: love, hate, deceit, infidelity, war and success. However, I continually got lost in the number of characters and the changes that occurred so quickly. I will say it is not a fast read; you really have to read it slowly to understand what is going on. I actually prefer some chaos but simplicity in placement of characters. If you are familiar with the author’s writing from the first book and characters, then you might not have had the problem I did. I did find the author had an exceptional talent in describing what was going on in the mind of her characters and drew very vivid details of passion, war and hate. One of the things I did like about “Priestess Awakening” was that you could relate it to “today,” and how we as a society are doing. There are greedy people; affairs; lies and manipulating others to get what you want. The author addressed all those issues and more in this book. One of the things I did take away from this book, and discussed it in my college Psychology classes, is that there are true friends who stick by you no matter what and there are those who only like you for what you can do for them. |
