Zack Kahler is tired of New York and looked forward to returning to his hometown, Kahlerville, Texas, where he has bought a newspaper.  When he slipped on the icy street, two waifs’ picked his pocket under the guise of offering to help him up.  His big heart was touched when he discovered the twins had lost both their parents.  Before returning to Texas, he stopped at the orphanage to check on them, only to end up adopting them.  On the train ride to Texas, he discovered that what he thought was two boys were actually twin brother and sister.  Curly and Charlie were six-years old and a handful.  When they arrived at a boarding house, he rekindles his friendship with Chloe Weaver.   He had not intended to fall in love but could not help himself.

Chloe took a job at the local boarding house.  The job was to watch the front desk, keep the books, clean, and help wherever she was needed.  She had no family and knew she must fend for herself.  Many nights she had slept outside and gone hungry.  She remembered Zack from school.  He was eight-years older than she was and always treated her well.  Many of the other kids made fun of her, but Zack saw that she was hungry and brought her food each day.  When he walked back into her life, she knew she had loved him since she was a child.

“A Texas Legacy Christmas,” by DiAnn Mills, is Christian Romance at its finest. Ms. Mills is an exceptional writer.  The plot of this story flows smoothly.  I could not put it down and read it in one sitting.  The characters were so well-developed that they jumped off the page and came alive in front of me.  Zack and Chloe’s romance is endearing.  Ms. Scott and Simeon brought a smile to my face more than once.  How could anyone not love Curly and Charlie?  The supporting characters are all intriguing.  I wonder if another story with Eli as a main character might not be in the works.  Ms. Mills uses Christian values and tells a story of true romance.  I highly recommend “A Texas Legacy Christmas” to fans of Christian romance.
