February’s Diary: 28 Days of Lies
Through author, Jenelle N. Robinson`s poetic thoughts and personal journaling, she is able to share with readers her passion to minister to Christians who have lost their path in life, and the many stumbling blocks she encountered while finding her own way. Through her own emotional, physical, and spiritual bankruptcy, Jenelle was able to condense a lifetime of "before and after" thinking, into a concise, and open, 28 day diary. It is an honest view of the author’s journey to find spiritual purification, and she invites all believers to join her in a mission to welcome God into your life also. I did find Jenelle’s rhymed poetry to be a little off in rhythm, caused primarily by some of the rhyme scheme to be forced and uneven. But however you view the rhyming or non rhyming poetry in “February’s Diary: 28 Days of Lies,” you are sure to walk away with a solid message contained within its pages. One message is clearly delivered within day 13 of “February’s Diary.” I feel it bears mentioning, should the title turn the reader away, please read on... "Day 13," is titled "Most white people don’t wash their hands." I really don’t feel Jenelle used this term to be "racially cruel", but more as an observation of her surroundings at that particular moment. Although it could have been worded in "color-blind" fashion, I did not view it as offensive, nor should the reader perceive it in that way. When I consider this book, yes, I truly believe Jenelle has been called upon to share her story with like souls, and minister to those who might otherwise perish in a sea of doubt and faithlessness. “February’s Diary: 28 Days of Lies”, is written by a woman, but will appeal to men as well. Whether you are a seeker or confirmed believer, man or woman, you may find your own truth and new found hope as your soak in the messages Jenelle N. Robinson relates to the reader. In the Biblical passage 'Jesus said unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life"...John 14:6, Jenelle asks that you believe this truth, and join her in the love of Christ and the Christian way. |
