Haven’t we all heard about climate change and global warning and wondered what the heck people were talking about? The author has provided a very easy to read and understand educational book on these very topics.

From the beginning of the book till the end, the author gives us basic information on the differences of climate change and global warning with graphics and examples. The first chapter explains in detail about terms and how we as individuals and businesses contribute to global warming. The second chapter I found very interesting in that the author gives examples from all over the world of these changes, including weather conditions, drought, precipitation and heat waves. We all have noticed those changes.

Further chapters discuss greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide, and fossil fuels with examples and graphs. We are then give ways that we can help reduce global warming and shown why we should even care about this.

Finally, the author discusses alternative energy- something we should all look at. One of these is solar heating and electricity. At the end of the book there are frequently asked questions and a summary of what was discussed in the book. I liked the summary- it was to the point and easy to understand. Not only would this help someone be able to discuss this topic, but also it gives us a better idea of what we can do to help. There is a great section on resources where one can find more information. “Cocktail Party Guide to Global Warming” by Annette Saliken is an excellent book on an important topic for everyone.
