Spirit Warrior “Spirit Warrior” is author Peter H. Zindler’s debut book. The book is a science fiction parable about finding and living in God’s ways. It is a well-written, engaging story about good vs. evil. The story begins with the main character, Vying, competing in the ring against the brute Megog of Za-Kar for the title, Crown Champion of the Blue Star Galaxy. Megog is much bigger and Vying is quickly outmatched. And to make matters worse, Megog is enraged when his intended, Queen Zelestar, only seems to have eyes for Vying. Much like the David and Goliath story, Vying receives help from the Almighty just as all hope appears to be lost and wins the match. After the victory, Vying quickly returns to his planet, Micron and his best friend, Wolks and lady love, Sera. The community of Micron is under the ocean to keep it safe from Za-Kar and Og, its emperor and Megog’s uncle. Micron is a wonderful community with a great leader, King Varton. The king is a true believer in God and the planet was created by respecting God’s laws. The surface of the planet is a very dangerous place because it is unprotected from alien attack. Shortly after his return, Vying is sent on a secret mission by King Varton and once again receives help from the Almighty when he asks and also learns the hard lessons of living life by following the ego and not God’s way. He is continually tested as the galaxy goes to war. The story goes on to include intergalactic battles, espionage and intrigue. All throughout the story, Vying learns to walk in spirit and grow in treacherous times. The author, in his clever use of science fiction to write “Spirit Warrior” about good vs. evil has written a story that people who enjoy science fiction, especially boys will enjoy. This fast paced story kept me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next and had quite a few surprises. |
