My Love Of Reading
Since Susan is out sick, I am writing the editorial. Now, I am not much of a writer. I love to read and write reviews. When I first started reviewing books for Reader Views, I hadn’t read in a long time. I remember when I was a kid, I would read “Goosebumps” series, written by R.L. Stine, walking to the bus stop. I wanted my son to have the same love of books as I did. The best way to make that happen is to be a living example. Here I am, reading hard core for four years now.
If you want to know a little something about me, my genre of choice is Mystery/Thriller/Horror. I love all things suspense and I love to be scared to death. Call me crazy but if I can read or watch something super scary, I am a happy girl. I am also a sucker for crime. I watch a lot of true crime on Investigation Discovery channel…almost so much I scare my friends. They think I am plotting something. (I swear I am not.)
I also really love to read in many genres, all the way to the Self-Help/Inspirational genre. I find that I can balance myself when I feel down or like the world is against me. While I am not a religious person, I find inspiration in the journeys of others. Since finding the Indie book world, I have fell in love with many different books and authors. I have learned so much from Indie authors that I cannot even express my joy with words.
Someone called me a bookworm the other day. I thought…well yes…yes I am! I am ok with that! I am a bookworm! I know we do not normally do this but I wanted to share my top 10 list of books I have read in the Indie world so far. Keeping it simple and in no particular order:
· Saint Nellie by Odal Madsen
· Fatal Betrayal by Bruce Forester
· The Infinity Program by Richard H. Hardy
· Surviving 26th Street by Carol June Stover
· Horses and Heroin by Bev Pettersen
· Cocaine Zombies by Scott A. Lerner
· Playmates by Jess C. Scott
· The Forest Dark by Jim Arnold
· Secrets of the Other Side by Eric Gober
· Life Is Full Of Sweet Spots by Mary O’Connor
We hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you eat way too much since I am on a diet and cannot have pumpkin pie :)
