Is it me or was the summer shorter this year? As I sat in my office trying to sort out my calendar I realized that it has been a while since I updated everyone on what we have been up to, so am taking a break on editorials this week and give everyone the heads up on how we are preparing for the Fall and some dates and events to keep in mind.
- Readers Views first On the Road event is coming up in November and I can’t express the excitement in this office! We are running around getting the banner and other props to showcase our participating titles, as well as marketing. We have even received some books already! But the best part about participating in the2014 Atomacon is figuring out what to wear! So make sure you don’t miss the Newsletter after the event to find out if Jen and I got into comic’s character! - October also marks the increased Submission Fee for the Awards, so if you are planning on entering, this would be the time to send it in! The deadline to be able to enter is December, but because we want to promote early entries to have more time for judging, we offer the discounted fee until the end of September. We have seen many interesting titles come in in all categories so the suspense is beginning to build up! For more information about the Awards and guidelines to enter click here.
- Finally, First Chapter Plus’ Holiday Issue happens in October. This is the most important Issue, as it is just in time for the shopping season. Because all of our authors are awesome we want to give back to express our appreciation by offering three months for the price of one on all listings to keep your books in our subscribers mind when figuring out gifts for their loved ones! The deadline is October 1st, so don’t miss out! To find out more about the catalog click here.
These are the main fall happenings, but not all of them! We always look for ways to promote Indies and small publishers, and in fact are currently working in few new services for 2015, so stay tuned with us and keep reading the Newsletter for new announcements!
