“Life’s Statements” by Delores M. Artemus will help motivate you to get started on formulating goals. The author has written statements that will help you think about what you want to achieve while you are on your journey. The statements are designed as lifelines to help you decide about how you are going to get to where you want to be. As you formulate your goals, you might see that you need to make some changes in your habits and how you think.
The book is set up so that you can actually do your journaling in it. The first section has an outline on which you will set goals regarding career, finances, family and personal issues. Once you decide what your goals are and write them down, you will also want to set a date by which they will be completed. There is also a Life List where you will list the things that will make your life “enormous.” I feel that this is the place where I would also include the fun things that I want to accomplish on my journey.
The “lifeline” statements that follow throughout the rest of the book will generate deeper thinking about topics that can be tied into all of the goals that we have created. Some of these statements are described, while others are there for you to figure out for yourself. Written in a positive and highly motivating manner, I think that readers will enjoy the simplicity of this process. Rather than being burdened with huge steps that have to be taken to get somewhere, the author makes this process seem much easier because it is brief, concise and well organized. I think that “Life’s Statements” by Delores M. Artemus would make a great gift for someone who is feeling overwhelmed about changes that they need to make in their lives. The simplicity and positive motivation will help them get started on a path to a “Life: Enormous!”
