“Allah of the Qur’an and the God of the Bible” by Dr. Thomas G. Brunswick is written to familiarize the reader with the historical growth of Islam and the methods by which it has spread throughout the world, as well as a brief overview of the origin and development of the Islam religion, and Mohamed’s attempt to change history.
I found the chapters devoted to the prophecies attributed to Muhammad in light of biblical prophecies fulfilled and yet to be fulfilled especially illuminating. Dr. Brunswick included a complete listing of the prophecies of the first coming of Jesus as Messiah from Genesis to Malachi with references from the New Testament counterpart showing how they were fulfilled. Summary statements of each prophecy as well and topical categories make this a valuable tool for future study. Other important resources are the comprehensive glossary and the extensive bibliography which adds to the credibility of Dr. Brunswick’s scholarly research and his conclusions.
The chapters highlighting a comparison of the differing views of the Paradise of the Qur’an and the Heaven of the Bible, as well as the differing teachings on the eternal suffering of Hell describe the torment of knowing what might have been.
This not a book for casual reading; a preview of the table of contents reveals a logical development of often “confusing inconsistencies” in the tenets of Islamic theology. The dangers of the methods being used to insure the increase of growth of the Islam religion are deceptive as, in addition to volunteer converts, coercive political scare tactics and the physical conquest of nations are primary principles being practiced. Brunswick warns for true Muslims there is no compromise.
Dr. Brunswick does a careful comparison of the biblical claims and those of the Qur’an and the natural attributes of Allah with the God of the Bible, encouraging the reader to examine, analyze, and contrast biblical Scripture with the ostensive new revelations of the Qur’an.
“Allah of the Qur’an and the God of the Bible” by Dr. Thomas G. Brunswick is designed to be helpful in alerting followers of Christ some insight into the claims of Qur’an. It is also meant to give the modern day seeker sensitive Muslim a clearer understanding of the claims of the Bible in light of their Qur’an.
