“Collision: The Battle for Darracia” by Michael Phillip Cash is Book 2 of the series. I did not read “Schism,” the first book of the series, so I was a little weary of reading “Collision.” However, having read other works for Cash I gave it a go. The book begins were the first one left off, after the coup of Prince V’sair’s uncle, Staf Nuen. V’sair is now King of divided worlds in Darracia. He had invited the Quyroos to join them, dreaming of a united kingdom. He found himself alone as Tulani, the love of his life, was away as Ambassador of Darracia, living with the Quyroos. She one of them, although raised since she was 3 years old by V’sair’s mother in Darracia. Her goal was to gain the trust of her people before marrying the King of Darracia. V’sair’s step-brother had also left in search of himself as he planned revenge against Staf Nuen. In the meantime, Staf Nuen is plotting against Darracia with new determination as he joins forces with the Nefarious.
Cash has definitely mastered the creation of new and different credible worlds. The mix of sci-fi and fantasy makes for a reading feast to all lovers of both genres. The intriguing plot and suspense kept me glued to the pages as I got through the book in one sitting. Although, I found a few editing issues, Cash’s storytelling style pulled me into the story and never let go of me, even after I was reading. The book worked as a standalone story and not reading the first didn’t affect at all my understanding of the plot. The character development is awesome. All characters are full of life and color, captivating the reader with their distinct personalities.
"Collision: The Battle for Darracia” by Michael Phillip Cash is an awesome sci-fi/fantasy adventure that takes the reader through unique worlds, unforgettable characters, and amazing battles as they all collide within the readers minds.
