Robert E. Gross’ “Memoir & Misadventures of a Mad Inventor,” is a short, sweet, hilarious beautiful book that will take readers inside the innocence, resourcefulness, and crazy imagination of a young boy with a lot of time on his hands. Gross traveled back in time to his own youth, when he was growing up in a farm, as he re-visited his summer adventures as a mad Inventor, to bring readers a glimpse of his own mind at an age that everything is possible, or at least worth the try. Robert’s adventures with his inventions took me back to my own childhood as I laughed out loud at all of the malfunctions of each project, which he experimented with help of his brother and his friend. From ocean adventures on the farm’s pond to daredevil with their very own “Unicycles,” this book kept me smiling and laughing, and inspiring me to revisit my own adventures as a young boy myself.
Written beautifully, “Memoir & Misadventures of a Mad Inventor” by Robert E. Gross, is a must read for all young at heart. Definitely a five-star book as an excellent, easy-to-read book that will fill your heart with warm laughter…just don’t try his inventions at home!
