“Narcissistic Confrontations – A Biblical Guide to Your Abusive Family and Church Family’s Battle Tactics, Covert Operations, and Nuclear Meltdowns” is the sequel to Sister Renee Pittelli’s "Narcissistic Predicaments."
Sister Pittelli is founder and director of Luke 17:3 Ministries; she is known for her work with adult children who come from an abusive childhood. She writes from personal experience, as well as from the vantage point of lessons learned from her work as an Adult Recovery Mentor and victim’s advocate. She does not profess to be a professional counselor.
The testimonies and stories shared in her writing meet a real need for many who are caught up in narcissistic relationships, or recovering from the abuse of earlier abusive experiences. Pittelli writes from a Biblical perspective. There will be some readers who may disagree with her conclusions; however, multitudes have been blessed, inspired, and healed through her writing.
Throughout the book the illustrations describe the manipulative, egotistical, selfish, and conceited nature of the narcissists. Helpful information regarding group dynamics, confrontational tactics, selective amnesia are only a few of the important issues addressed.
Sister Pittelli is writing to a unique audience. Sophisticate readers, academic scholars, and professionals may be distracted by frequent repetition, lengthy lists, and the overuse of the large bold fonts. There may be lay readers, who find this format desirable and helpful in understanding, retention, and assimilation of the material.
“Narcissistic Confrontations” provides working strategies for families and individuals caught up in toxic relationships. Sister Pittelli is candid; she writes with understanding, empathy, and compassion.
