Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist and award winning author William Michael Seddon Sr. offers sound advice to the reader in his book “Before Terror Strikes: Learn the Tactical Mindsets and Skillsets Necessary to Survive a Terrorist Event Before It Occurs.” As the subtitle suggests Seddon is writing to alert the reader of the importance of taking personal responsibility for learning the tactical mindsets and skillsets necessary to survive a terrorist event before it occurs.
Seddon focuses on proactively visualizing possible situations and scenarios where terrorism might strike, reducing the risk of becoming a victim of the terrorist. Individual chapters are dedicated to learning and applying the skillsets needed when facing a life-threatening terrorist attack. These include the possibilities of: Sniper fire, gunfire, hand grenades, a mass shooter scenario, and a suicide bomber on a subway, train, or station.
I found several features in this book especially helpful:
- The illustrations, diagrams, and models.
- The glossary of technical terms.
- The direct approach of the information, instructions, and the development of the text.
- The many thought provoking quotes from highly recognized leaders, philosophers, and cultures.
William Michael Seddon Sr.’s book “Before Terror Strikes: Learn the Tactical Mindsets and Skillsets Necessary to Survive a Terrorist Event Before It Occurs” is ideal as a training manual for use within a family setting, individual application, or in survival training seminars or classroom use. An important resource in an era of international unrest.
