“Seeking Human Kindness” is a collection of fifty inspirational true short stories by various authors from around the world, and published by Reading Harbor.  The emphasis of these stories is random acts of kindness and how those simple acts impacted the lives of the givers as well as the receivers.  These stories span the entire globe and range from true heroism to a simple smile, each act having the undeniable focus of kindness in a sometimes unkind world.

I was extremely excited to read this book and the collection of stories far exceeded my expectations.  I dug right in as soon as I got my copy, gulping down the stories like a fanatic.  Then I realized, what I had in my hands was a gem, a treasure to be held dear and savored and from that point actually took the time to reflect on each story.  I found something rather meditative in the experience and every time I put the book down I felt light-hearted and serene, my faith in humanity restored!  I know, I know – cheesy – but true!  We are constantly and consistently surrounded by negativity, violence, and just plain meanness and rudeness – so much so that I’ve stopped reading the newspaper and watching the news.  I get all my information on my brief ride in to work in the mornings and that’s quite enough for me.    This compilation of stories about kindness is the polar opposite of what we hear every day, and is actually quite refreshing.

There are so many good things going on in this book.  The stories are very well written.  There are a good mix of stories from all over the world and all walks of life.  It held a lot of weight with me that the stories are real actual experiences of the authors.   Above all I loved witnessing the transformations of people when they actually realized how the random act of kindness impacted their lives, whether on the giving or the receiving end of the experience.

“Seeking Human Kindness” published by Reading Harbor will appeal to everyone that treasures kindness and happiness and seeks to find the good in all people.  Outstanding!
