Plumb Social

Plumb Social: Streamlining Your Presence in the Social Web

What You Get

A Custom WordPress Site

This site will host your blog as well as an image gallery, a video gallery, and life stream page (listing all of your activity in the social Web – like blog posts, uploaded Flickr images, Tweets, etc.), and an about page that has information about you, your book, or your company. This site could easily serve as your main Website, and can be further developed to that end.

In addition, the front page of your site will have:

  • An email subscription form for your RSS feed that is fed to Feedburner.
  • Buttons for subscribing to your RSS feed and to make it easy for others to add your site to social bookmarking and crowd-sourcing sites.
  • Image links to your Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, and two wild card social accounts.
  • A flash Flickr badge, highlighting your Flickr images.
  • An upcoming.org badge – showing all of your upcoming events
  • A “Social Homes” widget, that provides icon links to each of the places you have a presence in the social Web.
  • Links to buy your book or other products, if applicable
  • Link to your main Website, if applicable

You will also get accounts with the following social sites, that will be set up and integrated with your site as well as with and each other:

  • Feedburner
  • Twitter
  • Flickr
  • YouTube
  • An Upcoming.org
  • Facebook (page and profile)
  • MySpace
  • Ping.fm
  • Two wild card social networking or other social sites

Pulling It All Together

Once these accounts are in place, they will all work together so that the minimum you will need to do is:

  • Place blog entries to your blog site.
  • Place short entries to your Ping.fm account.
  • Upload images to your Flickr account.
  • Upload video clips to your YouTube account.
  • Enter events in your Upcoming.org account.

Whenever any of these actions takes place, each of the other relevant accounts will include the updates. For instance, when you upload an image to Flickr, the image will automatically go into the gallery on your blog site, appear on your Facebook page, and appear on your MySpace page. Or, if you post a blog entry to your blog site, it will automatically be imported into Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo. And so forth...
