“Blood & Guilt” by Jade Christy

I went into the novel Blood and Guilt: A Modern Vampire Romantasy by Jade Christy expecting the usual vampire story and came out stunned with what the author has created. This is book one of a series, and while this story takes its time—it’s deliberately, lovingly slow—the  journey is addictive and unforgettable.

“A Love This Grim” by Elora Morgan

Elora Morgan wends a tale of true love with powerfully poetic prose and playful, yet intense character depth. She builds a world that mixes a love for history and a variety of mythologies with her own sense of wonder and wisdom about the ways of the universe, which is both thrilling to experience and thought-provoking. The novel also features delightfully dark and elegant illustrations throughout.

“Pleasure Submission” by BJ Masterson

Pleasure Submission by BJ Masterson is the second installment in the Pleasure series, and it certainly left room for one or two more books!  I went into this book expecting a fairly straightforward erotic romance with BDSM themes. While it definitely was spicy, I was also pleasantly surprised to find that this work offered much more than just erotica. At its core, this is a story about trust, healing, friendship, and uncovering the truth. We are introduced to Emily, a newly divorced elementary school teacher who was able to rediscover herself in the world of BDSM with the help of her best friend Jenny. While at their favorite kinky joint one night, Emily locks eyes with the mysterious “Titan,” and it just explodes from there with lust, longing, and secrets.
