Dominique’s Journey is the story of a man’s quest to fulfill the destiny imparted to him by the woman who’s loved him across lifetimes. In one brief interlude, Léonide sets the course for his life, and he overcomes every obstacle to attain enlightenment. Fights, an invasion, and deaths are merely mentioned in passing, as drivers for the changes in Dominique’s life. The women he encounters in his travels all teach him lessons he needs to know to approach the last stage of learning. He begins as a formal scholar at a French Academy, and ends half a world away, as an Aspirant on an Eastern path. In between, he makes discoveries about his past and his family and comes to accept a new definition of, “home.”
Miranda Le Wise’s Escape from Fragmentia: The Quest for Remembrance is a work of Christian urban fantasy about trauma, spiritual deception, and the difficult process of learning to distinguish genuine healing from its counterfeits. The novel follows Tilly McMasters, a lonely and imaginative young woman whose life has been shaped by abuse, isolation, and an unusual companion named Mokeby. Tilly has known him since childhood, when he encouraged her belief in fairies, elves, hidden realms, and the wings she imagined growing from her back. He appears to be her protector, but his constant insistence that only he understands her gradually reveals a more disturbing form of control.
