Why would I want to read this book, Mystery of the Jebusite Tattoo?Is it historical fiction, mystery, action, thriller, or fantasy? The answer is all of these, to varying degrees. Author Catherine Lilai has skillfully woven multiple genres together to create a captivating narrative that blends mystery, espionage, archaeology, history, romance, and high-stakes adventure.
On the face of it, the story appears to focus on the acquisition and protection of artefacts and antiquities claimed by the ARU (Antiquities Recovery Unit), a French Government unit headed by Hippolyte Charles Montesquieu, Professor Emeritus of Antiquities and Religious Artefacts.
Global black-market trade in priceless and rare artefacts leads the French Government to develop a formidable force of dedicated archaeologists trained in decryption, weaponry, diplomacy, surveillance, and counter-surveillance.
Agent Ivy Rousseau, a young anthropology graduate, undergoes rigorous training at ARU and emerges as the central figure of the story. What begins as a mission to recover the priceless artefact, Slingshot of David, turns into a terrifying ordeal. The ARU’s greatest failure has been its inability to recover the priceless artefact—the Slingshot of David. Agent Ivy Rousseau is entrusted with the mission. As she pursues the recovery of the artefact, she opens a Pandora’s box that exposes an international alliance of terrorists, corrupt bureaucrats, businessmen, and smugglers. Their objective is chilling: to hijack a top-secret fighter aircraft equipped with nuclear weapons and use it to threaten Israel’s very existence.
What follows is a fast-paced sequence of events spanning multiple countries, as Mossad, Interpol, and the ARU race against time to identify the mysterious figure orchestrating the conspiracy.
